All legislative texts, official rosters, vote tally sheets, and district maps are compiled strictly from authoritative public government databases, including:
Congress.gov API (api.congress.gov) for federal legislation, bill summaries, and congressional voting records.
OpenStates API (openstates.org) for state-level legislation, roll call votes, and lawmaker rosters.
GovInfo (govinfo.gov) for official federal publications, public laws, and United States Code references.
U.S. Census Bureau (census.gov) for federal and state congressional district boundaries.
House Clerk, Senate Office of Public Records, and Office of Government Ethics (OGE) for official STOCK Act and financial disclosure filings.
2. Data Collection & Privacy Architecture
We believe in the power of democracy, not data collection. Our platform implements a multi-tier cryptographic pipeline to confirm one verified citizen = one voice without invasive identity harvesting:
Platform-Based Authentication: We leverage secure OAuth validation from Google and Apple. These identity providers confirm your account authenticity without sharing your browsing history or unnecessary personal details.
Zero Sensitive ID Collection: We do not collect or store Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, passports, or facial scans. Biometric features (Touch ID, Face ID, Android Biometrics) remain strictly on your local device hardware and are never transmitted to our servers.
Cryptographic Anonymity: When your account is verified, our system generates a one-way cryptographic validation hash (a unique token). This token confirms your citizen status while remaining permanently decoupled from your ballot submissions.
Your Votes Remain Private: Your stance and vote ledger is stored in a separate, generalized collection containing only high-level geographic/demographic indicators (state, county, party affiliation). It is mathematically impossible to link your personal identity back to your individual voting records.
Bot & Manipulation Protection: Device-level checks prevent automated scripts, duplicate profiles, and coordinated foreign influence operations from distorting polling telemetry.
3. Zero Sale or Commercialization of User Data
All citizen opinion and stance data collected is used solely to display public civic opinion telemetry and remains completely anonymous.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, telemetry, or opinion data to any third-party brokers, advertising networks, or political campaigns.
We do not track user behavior across external websites or share advertising identifiers.

5. User Rights & Account Deletion
You retain complete ownership over your account data. Under applicable privacy laws and Google Play User Data policies, you have the right to:
Review Your Data: View your profile metadata at any time in the mobile app's Profile section.
Account & Data Deletion: You can delete your account directly inside the app under Profile > Account Settings > Delete Account, or by submitting a written request to support@vettedvoter.org. Deletion immediately purges your authentication credentials, profile tokens, and personalized preferences from our databases.
6. Children's Privacy
Vetted Voter is designed for eligible voting-age citizens and educational civic transparency. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from individuals under the age of 13. If we discover that personal data from a child under 13 has been collected, we will take immediate steps to remove that information.
